Motor Mounts for 280GE-300GD / OM617 Diesel Conversation
These custom mounts set the engine 1 inch forward to allow for better clearance. They are based on the factory design, but made stronger, then coated. Detailed installation and fitment information available on request
Fit W460 Chassis with VIN/Serial Numbers ending in 027108 or greater
Benefits of using these over the stock 300GD mounts
1. Improved clearance between steel oil pan and front differential case.
2. Increase space between valve cover and vent box for easier valve adjustments.
3. More room for oil cooler lines.
4. Right engine mount top bolt now clears the turbo waste-gate.
5. Engine is closer to centerline of truck splitting the difference between 280GE and 300GD fan positions. As a result, you can re-use the 280GE fan shroud.
The 280GE fan shroud will clear the steering pump while the 300GD shroud may need a cutout to clear the power steering pulley.
6. A little more space for your (short) drive shaft.
7. Automatic transmission filler tube clears firewall.
8. Can reuse the donor car’s oil cooler line brackets.
