GWAGEN PRESERVE FAQ

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Are all of your parts new, used, or do you have both?

Answer: We carry both new and used parts, all of which are factory or OEM. Each part is noted as Used in its description.

2. What does it mean when a part is listed as "OEM"?

Answer: OEM means the Original Equipment as Specified by the car or truck's manufacturer. In regards to G Wagen parts, this means that Magna Steyr fitted this part to the car in the factory when it was built as specified by Mercedes-Benz, or it is no longer available as a Mercedes-Benz factory part and therefore the OEM is the currently specified replacement.

3. If I live outside of the United States and Canada, how do I find out the shipping cost?

Answer: Please contact us by email in order to arrange for international shipping. Be prepared to email us your ship-to address, phone number, and other contact information so we can find the best possible shipping method to get your parts safely to your location!

4. Does Gwagen Preserve do repairs to G wagens or install components?

Answer: Gwagen Preserve does not repair or service Gwagen vehicles at this time, only individual components. Gwagen Preserve currently offers component rebuild services. 8. I have some Gwagen Parts I no longer need and I was wondering if Gwagen Preserve would purchase them?

Answer: Please feel free to contact us via email with what you have. We are often helping our customers locate rare parts, perhaps we can assist you with your surplus items.

9. Why should I enter my vehicle year, model, and serial number for parts requests?

Answer: In order to best connect you with the correct fitting parts for your vehicle, this information is very helpful. Please note that as with many older vehicles, changes and modifications may have occurred with previous owners that have caused the vehicle to no longer have particular components it was sold with originally. There are often some variations, especially with vehicles that have been imported into countries with various requirements.

10. Why are there sometimes different used versions of the same part at different prices?

Answer: Used parts come from vehicles in various conditions. Our parts are tested for functionality and will not be added to inventory unless functioning as they should. However, used parts come from different vehicles in different condition, and with different mileage. Our parts are therefore listed on the basis of their condition, and priced accordingly. For instance, a set of front seats with a tear would be priced less than a set that has excellent upholstery. Parts requiring significant reconditioning are either donated or put through our extensive parts refurbishment process.
